Fixing a bicycle tire is a simple job, but it does require some preparation and accuracy. Follow the steps below to stick a bicycle tire:
Remove the wheel with the flat tire from the bicycle. This can be done by loosening the quick release lever or unscrewing the wheel axle nuts.
Remove the tire from the rim by pulling the tire off the rim. Use a tire lever for this if necessary. Then remove the inner tube from the tire.
Find the hole in the inner tube. This can be done by inflating the inner tube and listening or feeling where the air is escaping.
Sand the area around the hole with the sandpaper that came with the repair kit. Then apply the glue to the sanded area and let it dry according to the instructions on the repair kit.
Stick the patch to the sanded and glued area on the inner tube and press firmly.
Check that the tire does not contain any sharp objects that could damage the inner tube.
Put the inner tube back into the tire and put the tire back on the rim. Start on the opposite side of the valve and push the tire back onto the rim. If necessary, use tire levers to help.
Inflate the tire to the recommended pressure printed on the sidewall of the tire.
Check that the tire is installed correctly and that the brakes still work correctly.
Place the wheel back on the bike and tighten the quick release lever or tighten the wheel axle nuts.
You are now ready to start cycling again!
